Are you a frequent traveller looking to save time packing? Mari Kondo has the solution.
Do you hate packing for travel? As a frequent traveller myself I would always dread having to prepare for the trip. Well, this changed after I learned the Mari Kondo folding method. An annoying chore became a satisfying 5-minute exercise.
The majority of us have our wardrobes stacked with piles of folded clothes. We end up digging through them, invariably creating a mess. Stop wasting your time, I have the solution.
Traditional clothes folding does not work
The traditional fold and stack, which you see in a clothing store is really inefficient. Think of how the store looks at the end of the day, with clothes thrown everywhere and the poor staff running in circles trying to re-fold everything.
Do the following resonate?
๐ต๏ธโโ๏ธ Struggle to find your clothes
๐ฉณ Extracting items messes up the pile
๐งบ You end up only wearing the clothes at the top of the pile
๐ When packing, you end up re-folding everything
๐ญ When unpacking your find a creased mess!
Well, it does not need to be this way.
The Mari Kondo folding method
The best way to learn this technique is to grab a full basket of clean clothes and search Mari Kondo on Youtube.
It will take you a little bit of time to learn but you should quickly become familiar with the technique, it’s like learning to tie a shoelace, just persevere.
She will teach you a method of folding that creates these little free-standing parcels for each item, and this is the magic. โจ
Uniform, neat rows
The advantages of this method are:
โฉ Quick and easy storage. Either in drawers or in small boxes which can be stored on shelves.
๐ You are able to see every item, which means you no longer just grab the top one!
๐ When you pick something to wear you don’t disturb everything else
๐งณ When packing a suitcase, you just count the number of days needed and can pick up a row of items and put them directly in the case without any other work!
Go try it out, and I am sure you will become a folding evangelist like I did. It is so satisfying when you have everything neatly folded and in its right place!
