218 wordsCharles Haworth is co-founder & Chief Technology and Operating Officer of Modaso Energy, a renewable energy developer advancing baseload wind-solar-battery infrastructure across African markets — and building the first fully AI-native renewable energy developer, with AI integrated into project screening, document and contract development, and engineering optimisation. He is also co-founder & non-executive chairman of Tessera Hybrid (formerly Converge Hybrid), a platform that sizes and prices firm renewable power by dispatching thousands of hybrid plant configurations across 30-year hourly simulations.
Before founding his companies, Charles was COO/CFO of CWP Global, overseeing operations and finance for a 200+ GW portfolio of ultra-large-scale green hydrogen and Power-to-X projects across 34 countries. He spent 16 years at GE Vernova, where as Global Executive Director of Offshore Wind commercial operations he closed multi-billion-dollar contracts including the 800 MW Vineyard Wind project, the first commercial-scale offshore wind farm in the United States, and earlier led onshore wind commercial teams across Europe, the Middle East and Africa — more than $5 billion in equipment and services sales across his career.
Charles holds a PhD in laser physics from Imperial College London, with first-author research published in Science and Nature Physics. He is an active investor in technology, blockchain, and energy-transition startups. He is based in Dubai, and holds black belts in judo and kickboxing.
